It’s important that you rank high in search engines to generate traffic. It’s also important that you have as many people as possible click through to your website from search results. Increasing your click through rates (CTR’s) can prove to be very beneficial and profitable. By implementing these three tactics, you can easily increase your CTR’s and be one step closer to making more money online.
1) Use Killer Titles
Titles are the essence of ranking in search engines. Your title tells Google and other search engines what keywords your webpage should rank for. Titles also serve another purpose that is often neglected, convincing searchers to click through to your site. It’s so easy for us to get consumed in ranking in search engines that we forget about the value of user friendly titles. You must find the balance point of creating titles for uses, that communicates what your page is about to search engines as well. Without a killer title, you can rank number one in Google with significantly low CTR’s, which will in turn eventually lower your ranking. When writing a killer title, think about your target market and using words that will speak directly to them. A common practice in search engine optimization (SEO) has been to use hyphens in titles and use several keywords. Google’s most recent updates like Panda and Penguin are targeting webmasters making content specifically for search engines. When crafting your title, make your titles natural. By making your titles natural, you are not only pleasing the search engines, you are making them more appropriate for searchers, which will increase your click through rates.
2) Speak Benefits
You have 70 characters and less to make a lasting impression on searchers. Keeping page titles under 70 characters is optimal for SEO, so you have to say exactly what the searcher wants to hear in a limited amount of words. A great way to grab the searchers attention is to speak benefits in your title. When searchers run across a title with their keywords in it and also a benefit that speaks directly to them, they are much more likely to click through to your site. Many people use and highlight features to capture prospects attention, but using benefits has proven to be far more effective. Use benefits in your title to increase click through rates and gather more prospects so you can make more money.
3) Use Keywords in Your Description
Descriptions are critical to click through rates. Although, they have no SEO value, their sole purpose is to benefit the searcher. There are a few things you can do to your descriptions to increase your click through rates. When a searcher uses specific keywords, not only are the keywords used made bold in the title, they are also made bold in the description as well. Use the bolded text to your advantage. The more bold words you have in your description the better it is for your CTR’s because it will lead searchers eyes to your search engine position. Also, for the keywords that you use in your description, make the beginning letter of them capital case, as if you were starting a sentence. Making the initial words capital may not be the most correct English but they will help grab even more attention when they are made bold. Implementing these two methods will help you grab more attention and put you one step closer getting higher click through rates.
By using these three tactics, you will be well on your way to increasing your click through rates. Continue to build and optimize your site for users and you can expect to see natural growth, engagement, and conversion.
